Phone 0845 458 3707 to inquire about Matthew Parris now |
Matthew ParrisMatthew Parris, the former Conservative Member of Parliament, is a columnist for the Times and The Spectator and until recently wrote the Parliamentary Sketches in the Times. Prior to this he was sacked as a columnist on the Sun when he “outed” Peter Mandelson and the BBC famously put a ban on any reference to it. Matthew first came to prominence when he was elected as an MP for West Derbyshire in 1979. Prior to this he had been a diplomat before becoming Margaret Thatcher's personal assistant. Leaving politics in 1986 he became the Presenter of LWT’s political interview programme, Weekend World and today he remains a prolific commentator and author penning, amongst others, Great Parliamentary Scandals, I Couldn’t Possibly Comment and The Great Unfrocked, a catalogue of ecclesiastical misdemeanours. A keen traveller he has led expeditions to Mount Kilimanjaro, Peru and Bolivia as well as to Zaire and the Sahara and he recounts some of his experiences in his books. Matthew Parris is both a great after dinner speaker and a serious political commentator. | |
